How Flyt works

01

We search, partners sell

Flyt is a metasearch site. When you search, we ask airlines and online travel agents for their prices on your route and dates, then show them side by side.

We never sell tickets ourselves. When you choose a fare, we send you to that partner, who takes payment, issues the ticket and handles any changes.

02

How we make money

Partners pay us a small referral fee when you click through or book. That fee comes from their marketing budget, so the price you see on Flyt is the price the partner charges you.

Results are ranked by price, journey time or a balance of both. Partners cannot pay to move up the list.

03

Why a price can change

Some prices come from a cache that is a few hours old, because asking every partner for live prices on every search would be slow. The partner always confirms the final price before you pay.

If a fare has gone up by the time you arrive, it is usually because the last seats at that price sold.

04

About this demo

Flyt is a portfolio project. The airlines, agents and prices you see are generated by a mock provider, and the booking step stops at a demo page instead of leaving the site.

The real data source, Travelpayouts, sits behind the same provider interface and can be switched on with configuration once it is finished.
